{Guest Post} Indecisively Ashley

Hey everyone! As Hunter Husband and I head out on our trip to Arizona, my awesome sister, Ashley, is here to start off my week of guest bloggers! Be sure to stop by her blog and say hello!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there! I'm Ashley, I blog over at Indecisively Ashley and I also have the pleasure of being Kara's big sister! Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Not only is she my sister but she is also my best friend. Love her to pieces! I could go on about our bestie/sisterly relationship but will save that for another day. Kara is on vacation in Arizona right now and I am extremely jealous to say the least. The plus about her vacation is she asked me to participate in her week of summer fun. Yay! I debated what to blog about for days and finally stumbled on one idea and it stuck with me. Summer in my household is full of celebrations. Three out of four of us have birthdays this summer and my wedding anniversary is also in July. Throw in Father's Day and the 4th of July and we have lots of far too many fun parties to plan! So, I thought it would be great to share some summer party ideas. And it gave me a reason to get all googly-eyed while on Pinterest. I'm game!

Shall we start with some fun ideas? Yes, I think so too. Here are the top 4 things that I believe are a summer party necessity.

1. Invitations. You must have fun and appropriate invitations. I love this idea for a casual backyard get-together or BBQ with family and friends. No special occasion really. Just because.

2. Centerpieces. They are a must. They don't have to be fancy but just something that is appealing to the eye and looks nice of course. This watermelon centerpiece idea is perfect for summer and would really work well with any type of party!

Having a 4th of July gathering? How adorable are these centerpieces!? I swoon.

3. Food. Must I state the obvious? You must have food. And lots of it when you're having a summer party. Here are a few fun things I would like to serve at my next summer party.

I love these 4th of July strawberries! I am going to have to try these this year. My kids will have a blast helping!

4. Decorations. No need to go overboard with the decorations, but a few are necessary. What's a party without party decorations, right?

We have been debating what the theme should be for L's 3rd birthday party in August. Lately he has really been into superheros and when I saw these ideas I almost died. A superhero party with masks and capes? I'm thinking so. Let's hope I can afford to follow through with all of my ideas!

Just for fun I thought I would share a few photos from Kara's bridal shower that I planned last summer. It was so much fun!

Kara and I

What are all of you planning for this summer? Any fun party ideas? I'd love to hear them!

I'm still very new to the blogging world and would LOVE to make some new friends. Please, please, please hop on over to my blog and check it out. Here's my button too.

I hope y'all have some fabulous events planned for this summer! And I can't wait to hear all about them when you blog about it :)

Send Kara some love and then go take a peek at my blog, would ya? Let's be friends. K? K.
